Get the ‘Maximum’ of the battery| Asus Zenfone max review
Guess what came to me this week? The all new ASUS Zenfone Max!!! Zenfone Max is ASUS’s best-selling phone in the country and the new version is a refresher of the same.
When I first opened the box I was surprised that the phone was already on. Such was the battery backup of the phone that it kept working for 3 days till it reached to me in the package.
With screen getting bigger and more and more apps that we install on our device every day; the biggest challenge with smart phones today is their battery that lasts only a day (at the maximum). This is where Zenfone Max stands out, powered by a massive 5000 mAh battery which makes it the most long lasting phone out there which enables you to #liveunplugged 😉 It also comes with an OTG cable that turns into a charger for other devices, so doubles up as power bank.
While the new Zenfone Max is identical to the previous version, it is now available in two more fun colors, blue and orange. The new version sports Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 Octa-Core processor as against Snapdragon 410 in the last version. It also has an option for 3GB RAM (for higher price) which was not available before. It has latest Android version, Marshmellow 6.0.
The phone looks stylish with an embossed leather feel at the back and copper trims on the side. It has soft edges which makes it easier to hold. It is available in three colors; Black, Orange and Blue. The layout is basic with volume keys and power on the right side, 3.5mm audio socket at the top and Micro-USB port at the bottom.
The camera is exactly same as before, a 13 MP at the back and a 5 MP at front. It is also equipped with dual-tone LED flash and laser autofocus. The performance is decent and shots have good clarity. It also has a cute GIF animation feature to create your personalized GIF in seconds 😀
Here is an indoor as well as outdoor shot taken with Zenfone Max.
• As I mentioned above, the USP of this phone is its 5000 mAh battery that can last up to 3 days.
• It has a 5.5 inch HD display (720X1280-pixel IPS screen), which is slight bummer considering other phones in the range are offering full-HD.
• The 32 GB hard disk is also sufficient, even for a person like me who stores hundreds of pictures on a device. Plus it’s extendable up to 64 GB via a micro SD card.
• It has a 13MP rear cam and a 5MP front camera for all your selfies 🙂
Other specifications (from press release)
Being offered at the same price as its predecessor, INR9,999 (INR12,999 for the 3 GB RAM version) is a good option for users who are looking for sturdy phone under INR10,000 mark. The phone has all the features for everyday use and comes with huge battery life that is handy for users who are always on the go.
Thanks a lot for reading!
