How are you? It is one of the busiest weeks here in Delhi for the most of us and more than shopping we are all getting stuck in traffic jams! We want to buy gifts for family and friends and above all the best Indian outfits to be worn on Diwali for ourselves. The days after Dussehra pass quickly due to festive enthusiasm in our hearts and celebrations in the air. With Diwali gifting as well as Card Parties becoming popular the need for Indian outfits has increased all the more. And if it is designer-wear or with a western touch, it’s a cherry on the cake! 🙂
I have shortlisted for you some designer styled garments that can be worn this Diwali season and can be reused during weddings next month. This list is not exhaustive, but you will definitely find one that suits you from theses!
As the name suggests, this piece looks like a sari, but is worn like a gown. It is trendy, comfortable, sensuous and ethnic as well. So grab one this season! Click here to see some nice Sari gowns.
2. Traditional Silk Sari
Silk Saris look elegant and traditional at the same time. I am also looking for an apt sari in silk for my sister’s wedding! Try Uppada, Banarsi, Minakari or Kaanjipuram. All look equally good. Gold jewelry adds to the grace of this apparel. The difference lie in the hand weaving. I personally loves Saris at Ekaya and Nalli. Click here to see some elegant silk saris.
3. Anarkali Suit
Anarkali looks party wear and grand. Click here to see the Anarkalis I found worth buying online.
4. Crop Top-Skirt Set
Crop tops and skirts are the most in this season. Flowy floral skirts paired with crop tops made of fancy fabrics look pretty and girlish. These are trendy and pure Indian. It can be easily worn for card parties or family get togethers. Click here to find some nice sets.
A Dupatta added to the Crop-Top and Skirt set is like a Lehnga. Light colorful Lehngas look fabulous, especially when worn at the time of Diwali Puja. I like ones by Nikasha. Click here to find one, if you don’t possess one already!
Sharara pants have been there on and off on the ramps. It looks like a Skirt, but is worn as a pant. It looks nice and can be easily carried off this festive season. Click here for some beautiful Sharara sets.
7. Ethnic Jumpsuit
I had not imagined that Jumpsuits would suit Indian wardrobes. But they did this with a bang. The one in the picture is my favorite by Yashodhara. Click here to find some ethnic Jumpsuits.
Gowns, with an ethnic touch also look nice when worn on festivities. They look much like the Anarkalis in the sense that they are flowy and floor-length. See some nice ethnic Gowns here.
Capes have dominated the ramp this Fall. So its a dream outfit for every girl who follows fashion closely. Try one of these, Capes are easy to buy online as fit is generally free.
10. Dhoti pants with Jacket
Dhoti pants give a feel of fusion wear. Dhotis and Jackets look perfect in winters. Also both these garments can be paired seperately as well in the future. I liked some Dhoti sets here.
I will soon post in Indian Wear this festive season. So keep watching this space for more!
Hope you have all found out what suits you perfect to be worn this Diwali!
Happy Diwali! And Have fun with cards!
