How are you all doing? I am super-excited and all geared up for my birthday celebration. Can’t believe it, time is flying too fast, and I am growing older. It seems just like yesterday when I was in school, looked for the perfect birthday dress for a month, and had a list of wishes to be fulfilled…and now I am…a mother, a wife…a little distance away from my parents…still in awe for a perfect birthday outfit! When I rethink of the times…things haven’t changed that much! Except for my address and the magic number called my age. My birthday is one of the best things that happen to me each year. And this year is a little more special, as out of all the wishes I get every year…I have a new one this time, My LO learned to say “Happy to you” this week. Perfect timing! Thanks to a birthday celebration at her playschool. I will come up with my post on my birthday outfit soon! So keep watching this space for more…
My post today is an outfit I wore at the Falaknuma palace! Catch up with my posts on the palace by clicking here and here. This JJ Valaya suit is a perfect evening wear. Tired of long Anarkalis and drape saris, I picked it up from the Valaya store at the DLF Galleria in Delhi. Valaya’s creations usually have contemporary and modern touches. The last time I went to check out the latest collection at the store, my eyes fell on this piece. I was apprehensive to buy as there was no close function lined up, but Mr. Hubby insisted and I realized it was worth a purchase as usually what happens with me is that whenever I am out to buy something fabulous, there’s nothing nice around!
This three piece outfit came with a jacquard and suede black jacket with red embellishments and thread work, a signature Valaya print Kurta and a red digital print legging. The best part is that it is multipurpose. This embellished jacket can be incorporated in western wear as well. I tried it once over a red shirt and black pants, resulting in a pretty indo-western look! Also this suit works well without the jacket, or with a plain black legging. So different looks with one piece!
Hyderabad is famous for its pearls, silk fabrics and bakery. I got this silk stole one from the Char Minar market from the locally famous Fancy Store. It is also available at La affaire in Delhi!
I found some interesting wedding wears from this wonderful designer. I checked out Pernia’s Pop Up shop and Exclusively.com and shortlisted some pieces to share with you:
- I simply love the blush pink color tone of this piece. The thread work on the digital print adds to the look. Click here to buy.
- This black and gold outfit does the work of both, a gown or a sari and is a perfect evening wear. Click here to buy.
- I loved the embroidered yoke and the drape dupatta of this maroon suit. Click here to buy.
- This one looks similar to my salmon pink and off white tulle gown that I posted in earlier. Click here to check out. The tulle flare gives a ‘princess feel factor’ when you put it on. Click here to buy.
