5 Super Easy DIY Chokers

Hello Loves!?

I hope that everyone’s doing good! I’m back with yet another blogpost. “History tends to repeat itself” and the quotation is certainly true when it comes to Fashion and Beauty trends. The 90’s fashion is surely a vogue right now, from dark velvet bold lips to wearing bell-bottom jeans to slaying the chokers to wrapping a dungaree over your shirt. All our favourite celebrity models, actresses and fashion bloggers are flaunting the choker necklace trend.

In this blog post I am sharing some really unique and easy-peasy DIY chokers for y’all, with few items and trust me I made all these with stuff lying at my home.

1. The Criss-Cross

Things you will need:
• Thick velvet ribbon
• Fabric glue
• A pair of scissors
• A plier
• A measuring tape
• Necklace clasp
• Rivet holes

Let’s get started: Measure your neck using the thick velvet ribbon and be assured to trim half an inch less than required. Using fabric glue crease both the edges inside. Make four holes using scissors leaving a space of quarter inch and attach rivet holes for a clean impression. Proceed a flat string through the rivet holes and you’re ready to drop jaws with the stunning criss-cross choker.

Style Tip: Pair your elegant criss-cross choker with a sexy lacy top or a tube LBD and oh woman, you’re ready to burn few hearts!

2. Pom-Pom Gypsy

Things you will need:
• A colourful strip or ribbon
• Tiny Pom poms
• A pair of Scissors
• Chain
• Locks
• A plier
• A fabric glue

Let’s get started: Now measure the tiny pom-pom around the neck and add snap buttons on both the ends using fabric glue. Now it’s time to lock the ends , so put the locks at each end and press it with a plier. Then add a loop to it and a chain in that loop on one end. Add a loop with a hook in the other end. Lastly, add few loops on the chain so that the hook can grasp on one of them.

Style Tip: Pom-poms are the most adorable thing on your neck!!! So, why not make it more attractive by pairing it up with an off-shoulder top or boho dress.

3. Studded Choker

Things you will need:
• Velvet Ribbon
• Fabric glue stick
• Studs
• A pair of scissors
• A plier
• Necklace clasp
• Rivet holes

Let’s get started: Flex the velvet ribbon around your neck for the perfect measurement. Using some fabric glue stick the studs leaving some space at both the ends. After having done that stick some snap buttons on the ends for closure and you’re set to slay.

Style Tip: Pair the choker with a basic off shoulder or tube top to make it the centre of attention!

4. Lace Choker

Things you will need:
• Some lace
• A pair of scissors
• A plier
• Necklace clasp
• A measuring tape
• Few titch buttons
• Sewing needle
• Thread

Let’s get started: Measure the lace’s length by wrapping it around your neck and with the help of a measuring tape, add two more inches to the length. After taking the right measurement, cut the lace. Take titch buttons, and with the help of sewing needle, sew one half of button at one end of the lace and sew the other half on the other end of the opposite side of lace, as shown in the picture. Don’t sew the other half on the same side of the lace, this way it will not close when pressed together.

Style Tip: The most adorable choker of the season! Wear it with bright or pastel colours to turn heads.

5. The Bow

Things you will need:
• Flat cord
• Fabric glue
• Studs
• A pair of scissors
• A measuring tape

Let’s get started: Just wrap the flat cord around your neck depending on how long for the perfect measurement and layered you’d like it to be. By using the glue add few studs at both the ends of the choker for some mass and you’re ready to rock!

Style Tip: The best thing about a bow choker is that it looks good with literally any sort of neckline whether it be, V-neckline or a plain Jane top (anything at all, trust me!)

I am pursuing English Honours. I really believe in the quote by Charles Bukowski that is “Without literature, life is hell.” Literature has changed my outlook towards life and helped me to discover the real me. I love everything whimsical. A content writer by day and a fashion enthusiast by night, is what that defines me well! Apart from that, I could watch horror movies all night.?
