My review of NYX Liquid suede creme in Pink Lust/Passion Rose
My very first reaction to Nyx liquid suede cream lipstick is that its texture resembles more to a cream lipstick that a proper liquid lipstick. Even after several minutes of application, it does not dry out completely though finish is velvet matte. If you are looking for a totally matte lipstick, you will be disappointed. However, I personally prefer the formula as it is not drying which is a relief to my chapped lips. It is not transfer proof and you have to be very careful. Longevity isn’t that great to be honest and it tends to leave the lips looking quite patchy after few hours. I would say it lasts for about 4-5 hours provided I don’t eat or drink, after which it starts to fade out. I would highly recommend using a lip liner underneath to improve the longevity.
The color pink lust is a bright pink with blue undertones. Let me start off by saying that it’s not an easy color to carry off. It’s definitely a shade that stands out and will brighten your face instantly. It has slight neon undertones as well. I also feel that you need base makeup to rock this shade as this will bring out shadows such as dark under eyes and pigmentation around the mouth more. But its a nice shade for collection or to wear in parties. Such bright lip with a white or black dress will look gorgeous.
Something I love about this lipstick is that it is amazing for girls with pigmented lips. It provides amazingly opaque application with just one swipe. But be careful while applying it because if applied heavily it can look gloppy and uneven.
What I immediately dislike…
It does contain certain oils that make it quite moisturizing but the endless list of chemicals is a bummer. Also, the details of the lipstick are listed on a plastic sheet wrapped around the tube so if the sheet is lost, all the info is lost. Also, I am little skeptical about is the shade range. Although it provides a wide variety of colors ranging from subtle nudes to bright poppy neons to bold dark reds, most of the colors have cooler undertones and hence darker skin tone people or people with warmer undertones can find difficult to find a color for them.
Would I recommend or not?
I would say it is a nice one to have in your collection as its vivid shade range allows you to play your lip game well. It won’t be a must buy but definitely a try on lipstick and quite suitable for bright sunny days.
